About Hope and Renew LLC

Empowering Growth and Renewal

Hope and Renew LLC in Amarillo, TX was founded by Stuart and Debra, a husband-and-wife team with an incredible blend of life experience and professional insight. Stuart brings years of ministry leadership and Peace Maker expertise, while Debra offers over 25 years of teaching and coaching experience in church and professional settings. Together, they have successfully raised three boys and built a strong, thriving marriage that spans more than 30 years.

Their lived experience as parents and partners gives them a unique perspective, allowing them to connect deeply with their clients on a personal level. Stuart and Debra understand the challenges and triumphs of family life and long-term relationships because they’ve faced them firsthand. They believe their combined story—of navigating marriage, parenting, and professional growth—is a valuable foundation that enriches the support they provide to individuals and families. At Hope and Renew LLC, they’re passionate about empowering others through practical, compassionate counseling informed by their own lives, professional training and years of service.

Stuart R. Smith

Pastoral Counselor, MDiv
Stuart works with couples and individuals providing spiritual and practical guidance. He has over 20 years serving in a variety of churches, primarily with youth and families. Recently, he has served as a Hospice chaplain for over 8 years. Stuart has been married to Debra for over 30 years, together they have three sons who enjoy various interests. Stuart is active as a boy scout leader and other adventures with them. He earned his BS from Texas Christian University and his Masters of Divinity from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

Debra

Licensed Professional Counselor
Debra is honored to walk with individuals through their healing, while they put life pieces from struggles and/or trauma together and meet their goals through individual, family, and group counseling. She has experience counseling women, adolescents and children. She has been married to Stuart over 28 years and they have three boys together. Debra earned her BA from Baylor University and her MA from West Texas A&M. She is nationally certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Restoration Therapy-level 1. Debra is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy.
